12.00pm Introduction, games and warm-up

12.30pm Workshop by Ann Maddern - 'Crossing the 'Star-crossed' lovers'
Exploring issues of sexuality, gender and vocal technique in Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet'

1.30pm Lunch break. There is a cafe downstairs, or you can bring own lunch.

2.00pm Workshop by Al Head - 'Send in the Clowns'
A lighthearted look at the role of the 'queer clown ' and an exploration of the serious business of 'getting it wrong'. Fun, frolics, costumes and a wealth of clowning around.

3.00pm Break

3.15pm Workshop by Justin Roseveare - Contemporary Dance
...encounter and explore an abstract and release based technique of contemporary dance, suitable for all abilities and ages.
The workshop will consist of a
*warm up
*travelling exercises (including floor work)
*learn and play with repertoire
*body conditioning, stretch and warm down.
Please bring appropriate clothing, suitable for movement, jazz shoes (optional) and drinking water.

4.15pm 'Dressing up, Dragging up': playing with gender and costume.
A chance to take on new roles and experiment with costume and persona with the support and creativity of the QUIP team. We will provide some costume, makeup etc but you are welcome to bring your own. Remember, there is a reduction in the cost of the cabaret if you come in costume!

5.00pm Break, set-up, chance to rehearse cabaret acts.

8.00pm Doors open for the cabaret. Cabaret is a collaboration with Surreal Saloon. Tickets 6.50/5.50/3.50 (if in costume)
